Car, vehicle engine exports stand at $120m in H1
TEHRAN- Iran exported cars and car engines worth $120 million in the first six months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-Septemebr 22), according to the data released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) and Trade Promotion Organization (TPO).
According to the data released by the Iranian Industry, Mining and Trade Ministry, car manufacturing in Iran rose 23 percent in the first six half of this year, as compared to the same six months in the previous year.
Iranian carmakers managed to manufacture over 642,930 vehicles in the mentioned six months, while the country’s car output stood at 524,256 in the first half of the previous Iranian year.
Based on the Industry Ministry data, Iranian automakers managed to produce 89,054 vehicles in the sixth Iranian month of Shahrivar (ended on September 22), registering a three-percent rise compared to the same month last year.
During the mentioned six months the country’s automakers produced 545,180 passenger cars, registering a 19 percent rise compared to the same period of the last year.
The production of various types of trucks also increased by 44 percent year on year, the data showed.
In the first six months of this year, the production of minibuses and middle buses also increased by three percent compared to the same period last year.
Car manufacturing in Iran increased by 39 percent in the past Iranian calendar year 1401 (ended on March 20), as the Iranian carmakers manufactured 1,347,394 vehicles in the mentioned year.
